Scheduling Posts Guide
How to Schedule Posts
Schedule generated content to post automatically at chosen times across your connected platforms.
Prerequisites
- Advanced Scheduling tier — required for checkboxes, bulk schedule buttons, calendar view, and Schedule actions on content cards
- Correct author (pen name) selected in the navbar — books, content, and connections are author-scoped
- Matching platform connected on Set Up for the content types you want to schedule
- Content in Draft status — only drafts can be scheduled
- Schedulable content types only — copy-only types (X, Medium, Reddit, Substack, Newsletter) cannot be scheduled
All users can view upcoming and past scheduled posts at Content → Scheduled, even without Advanced Scheduling.
Three Ways to Bulk Schedule
Choose the path that fits your workflow:
Option A — From Launch Calendar (fastest after a launch plan)
- Generate a launch plan on Launch Calendar
- On the results page, click Add to Bulk Schedule
- Complete the bulk schedule form (connections, dates, distribution)
Option B — Pick specific content across pages
- Go to Content → Generated Content
- Check the boxes on draft content you want to schedule — selections persist when you change pages
- A banner shows how many items are selected across pages; use Clear selection to reset
- Click Schedule Selected
- Complete the bulk schedule form
Checkboxes only appear on draft, schedulable content types when you have Advanced Scheduling.
Option C — Schedule all drafts or use the full list
- On Generated Content, click Schedule All Drafts — this includes every draft for the current author, not just the current page
- Or go to Content → Scheduled → Bulk Schedule to see all drafts in one table
- Complete the bulk schedule form
Bulk Schedule Form
After choosing content, you land on the Bulk Schedule Posts page. If you arrived with pre-selected content, you'll see a summary — click Edit selection to change items.
- Select one or more Platform / Connections
- Set Start Date and End Date
- Choose Distribution Type:
- Immediately — as soon as possible
- Evenly Spaced — spread across the date range
- Optimal Times — platform-specific best times
- Optionally set Posts Per Day and Avoid Weekends
- Review the preview, then click Schedule Posts
How Content Matches Platforms
The system automatically matches each content type to compatible connections:
- Instagram content → Instagram connection
- Facebook content → Facebook connection
- Article content → WordPress connection
- And so on for Pinterest, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky
If you select multiple connections for the same platform (e.g. two Instagram accounts), the system creates one scheduled post per connection for each matching content item.
Understanding Status
There are two status layers — content cards and scheduled posts:
| Layer | Statuses | Where to see |
|---|---|---|
| Content card | Draft, Scheduled, Published, Failed | Content → Generated Content |
| Scheduled post | Scheduled, Processing, Posted, Failed, Cancelled | Content → Scheduled |
- Scheduled (post) — accepted by the platform API; for Outstand platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn), the post may still show Scheduled until the platform publishes it
- Processing — the system is actively posting right now
- Posted — successfully published on the platform
- Failed — an error occurred; the error message appears on the row. Fix the issue (e.g. add a missing image) and click Retry
After bulk scheduling, a results summary appears at the top of the upcoming list showing how many posts were scheduled, posted, or failed.
Single Post Scheduling
- Go to Content → Generated Content
- Open a content piece (click to view details)
- Click Schedule
- Choose the Connection, date, and time
- For WordPress articles, select categories and tags if needed
- Click Schedule Post
Calendar View
From Content → Scheduled, click Calendar View to see posts on a monthly calendar.
- Filter by month, year, author, book, or platform
- Events are color-coded by status: blue = Scheduled, green = Posted, red = Failed, orange = Processing
- Click a day to jump to that date on the upcoming list
- Click an event to open that post on the upcoming list
The upcoming list filters by platform only (not book or author). Use the calendar for broader filtering.
Managing Scheduled Posts
Go to Content → Scheduled to manage posts:
- Filter by platform
- Reschedule — change date/time via the reschedule modal
- Post Now — publish immediately instead of waiting
- Retry — retry failed posts after fixing the error
- Cancel — remove a scheduled post
- View past posts — expand the collapsible section to load posts from the last 90 days
To edit post text or images, open the linked content from the View post link and edit on the content details page.
Best Times to Post
| Platform | Best Times |

| 8–11 PM, 2–4 PM | |
| 9 AM–1 PM (weekdays) | |
| Threads / Bluesky | Morning and early evening on weekdays |
Use Optimal Times distribution in bulk schedule to apply platform-specific timing automatically.
